Ruthie got these beautiful roses for Mother's Day. Ruthie, Penny and I painted them on Ruthie's deck.
My friend Nina found this lovely park loaded with wildflowers so Ruthie and I joined her one morning to plein air paint.
We were in Basalt Colorado and it had just snowed on the Frying Pan-what a beautiful sight.
My first attempt at interiors.
Last week I painted with friends from Laurel Daniel's class at this wonderful garden spot. There was so much to choose from but these red chairs really caught my eye.
Several years ago four friends and I started painting. I began with still lifes but soon found that plein air painting was what I enjoy the most. I have been lucky to be able to study under Elizabeth Locke, Mary Watkins and Laurel Daniel and attend workshops by Anne Templeton, Jill Carver, Virginia Vaughn, Gordan Folwer and Ian Roberts. I reside in Austin, Texas with my husband and biggest fan David. He always encourages me and keeps me going. We travel quite a bit so I have beautiful spots to paint in or photograph for studio painting. Being an interior decorator by trade, I have always been aware of the beauty around me. I love color and it shows in my paintings. All paintings are for sale but the pricing does not include framing or shipping unless stated otherwise. Please email me at paulark@austin.rr.com if you would like to purchase a painting.
